Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end  time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter:        Su Ross-Redmond

Observers:        Michele Carnerie, Ronnie Goodhand

Visitors:
Thanks to Su, Ronnie and Michele for helping with a count today despite the
not great weather.

Weather:
The day went pretty much as expected with rain early in the morning that
eventually cleared to the east. However, the air was still "wet" feeling
for a bit even after it cleared and this definitely limited the flight.
Winds were light from the NW before switching around to the E in the last
hour of the count. Pressure remained fairly steady through the day. Temps
ranged from 12C to 17C.

Raptor Observations:
A small flight today with 23 raptors comprised of Sharpies (10) and Am
Kestrels (10) along with singles of N Harrier, Merlin and Peregrine.

Non-raptor Observations:
None reported today.

Predictions:
The forecast is for light NE winds backing to E for the rest of the
afternoon which isn't terrible. What's interesting is that the updraft
forecast is quite good for Saturday all day with strong buoyancy and
moderate updraft velocities between 100-120 m/min (300-400 ft/min). The
only issue will be the pure blue skies which always makes it harder to spot
the birds.
