Total observation time: 0.67 hours

Official Counter:        Michael Patrikeev

Observers:        Jo Patterson

Visitors:
Two groups from the Marsh Museum visited us today, but unfortunately it was
poring at both times.

We welcome visitors to our site by the boat launch in Lake Erie Metro Park.
We are willing to spread the word with pamphlets and information cards,
along with tips on raptors identification. Let us share our enthusiasm for
this miracle of nature with you.

Weather:
It rained nearly non-stop all day, giving us only a short break to look for
birds between 10:00 and 11:00 hrs. Temperature steady at +19C (66 F); winds
from NNE and ENE at 9-10 miles per hour (14-15 km/hour), on average.

Raptor Observations:
We counted only two raptors today, both Sharp-shinned Hawks, during a
40-minute break in the rain. Jo saw a Peregrine over the parking lot, but
the bird headed in the opposite direction, towards Gibraltar.

Non-raptor Observations:
230 Blue Jays observed between 10 and 11 AM. Small birds, chimney swifts,
swallow, and even warblers were flying in the rain, but not raptors.

Predictions:
Rain forecast changes by the hour (it was supposed to end ca. noon today,
but it did not), but most likely we seen more rain and a very raptors
tomorrow. Although, it may change on a moment's notice.
