This morning around 0815 a Townsend’s Warbler found me working its way along the end of Erie Blvd., on Long Point near the Old Cut Lighthouse.

It was observed for about 20 minutes before disappearing. There was a large flock of warblers it was loosely associating with moving west, but if I had a guess it’s still in the woodlot along Lighthouse Crst. 4 American Golden Plover flew over at the same time. Local streets and navigation are summarized at the Old Cut Research Station - 13 Old Cut Blvd.

It’s generally birdy on Long Point today. The Causeway is perfect for shorebirds at the moment with 100 birds of ~10 species there this morning.

All recent highlights from Long Point are summarized on the Long Point Bird Observatory Sightings Board - https://birdscanada.mediavalet.com/portals/LPBO

Good birding,

Stu
