Good morning birders, The beautiful weather continues to shine upon park visitors and bringing in new species each day. Enthusiastic birders who ventured to the Tip early in the morning were rewarded with LAUGHING GULL, MARBLED GODWIT and there was a flyover of a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE. Throughout the park approximately 21 warblers have already been seen. This morning yielded some excellent birds including CANADA WARBLER, a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER (north of Dune Picnic area) and several reports of both BLACK-BILLED and YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO. South of the Visitors Centre on Woodland Nature Trail was quite birdie with wood warblers, and farther along towards bridges A through C was also good for warblers and vireos. There are still about three PROTHONOTARY WARBLER pairs. Along Shuster Trail at the first slough there was a pair of PROTOHONOTARY WARBLERS. Farther into the trail there were a number of sightings of various migrant species. CANADA and BLACKPOLL WARBLERS among many other warblers, and both cuckoos were noted. A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen at the DeLaurier Parking Lot. Of note, an OREGON JUNCO was found behind the Centre. It was last seen near Sleepy Hollow. We have had few reports from elsewhere in the Park.
