Good morning birders, Rather wild weather this morning. Very warm southwest winds pushing in across lake brought thunderstorms in. At the Tip before that a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was resting on the sand. Also noted were SANDERLING, DUNLIN, and RUDDY TURNSTONE. A DICKCISSEL flew off the Tip just after 8 am. Our hikes went into Tilden and Woodland Nature Trail, and birding was quite slow. However, one group noted an adult MISSISSIPPI KITE flew south over WNT. Also the PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS, several pairs, were seen again on that trail. Wood Warblers were not plentiful, but CANADA and MOURNING WARBLERS were noted. A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was seen on the West Beach Footpath, near the Halfway Stop. Also a KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported from Redbud Trail. No reports this morning of the WORM-EATING WARBLER reported from Northwest Beach late yesterday, nor the LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, also seen yesterday on the first slough on Shuster Trail. And no further reports about the BLACK VULTURE seen over near Hillman Marsh.
