Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: 1Counter
Observers: Jim Bradshaw, Kitty Bradshaw
Visitors:
Thanks to Kitty and Jim B for doing today's count.
Weather:
A mostly cloudy day with some sun poking through now and then. Winds were
moderate from the E. Temps got to a high of 19C but felt warmer with the
humidex. The humidity stayed fairly high during the count period barely
dropping below 80% at all.
Raptor Observations:
A small flight today with just 113 birds tallied but with some interesting
species including more Peregrines (4) and a few N. Goshawks (6) as well.
It's nice to see some species variety which is typical of October flights.
Non-raptor Observations:
None reported.
Predictions:
There is several days stretch going forward with winds to be forecast from
a a southerly direction which wi;; not be helpful in bringing birds down to
the Lake Erie shoreline. I suspect whatever flight occurs over this period
of time will be inland if the birds move at all.
