Observers:
Visitors:
A couple of visitors today. Thanks to Tom B for hanging in to do a bit of a
count today despite the very slow flight.
Weather:
Winds were light from the NE for the morning before backing to E and then
SE and effectively ending the flight for the day. Temps were quite cool
starting at 3C and getting to a high of 12C. Almost 100% cloud cover for
the morning and then breaking out to pretty much clear skies for the
afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
A small movement of raptors today with just 58 tallied. Tom had just a
single Golden Eagle for the count period along with a few each of other
species. Most of the count was TVs (33) and Redtails (12).
Non-raptor Observations:
None reported today.
Predictions:
It looks like Monday will start with rain for most of the morning before
opening up to a mix of sun and cloud for the afternoon. Winds are forecast
to be moderate to strong from the SW and then W which will most likely push
any migrant raptors inland away from the lake shore and out of view of the
hawk watch platform.
