Kingston Area Birds June 27, 2026 – July 3, 2026

Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintain records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders using eBird are encouraged to share their
sightings with ‘Kingston FN’. Alternatively, please email records directly
to me – contact details below. Please note that some sightings may require
review and remain unconfirmed unless stated otherwise. Species in bold type
require completion of a rare bird report available on the KFN website or
directly from me. If indicated, an OBRC report may be required instead (
http://www.ofo.ca/site/Obrcreport). Some iPhone users report that bold type
may be replaced by asterisks.

Overview: It was a quiet week overall in the Kingston Area, but that is
to be expected at this time of year.  Highlighting the observations this
week were the American White Pelican, seen in Gananoque on July 1st by
Bruce Dilabio and the Western Cattle Egret, seen on June 30 by Kurt Hennige.

As is typically the case this will be my last report for the summer,
unless something extremely rare and unexpected shows up in the area (keep
your eyes open, these storms that have been passing through always have the
possibility of pushing something rare into the area). I will resume my
reports at the end of summer once the early migrants begin their journey
back through our area.

Please note the new email address at the bottom of the report that can be
used to submit observations if you are not using eBird.
