Kingston Area Birds: 12th - 18th September 2020

Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintains records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders using eBird are encouraged to share their
sightings with 'Kingston FN'. Alternatively, please email or send records
directly to me - contact details below. Please note that some sightings may
require review and remain unconfirmed unless stated otherwise.

Highlights:

Northerly winds and accompanying cool weather saw modest migration continue
through the area, though rarities are in somewhat short supply. Here are the
highlights of the last week:

SNOW GOOSE - an early bird was seen on Front Road near Invista, Kingston, on
12th. It was joined by a second bird on 16th-17th with one still present
today in the same general area.

REDHEAD - 3 slightly early birds have been present in Cataraqui Bay,
Kingston, since 12th.

RED-NECKED GREBE - a single bird was seen at Prince Edward Point on 12th.

PHALAROPE sp. - a presumed Red-necked Phalarope was seen at distance at
Marshlands CA, Kingston, on 13th.

RED-HEADED WOODPECKER - a single bird was observed at Frontenac Provincial
Park on 12th.

RED CROSSBILL - 2 birds were noted just north of Godfrey on 17th.

PINE SISKIN - a single bird was seen near Wilmer on 12th, with 3 on Bur
Brook Road, just north of Kingston on 18th.

In order to minimise disturbance to wildlife and property in the recording
area, Kingston Field Naturalists has adopted the
