Blue-winged x CINNAMON TEAL (hybrid) (Algoma): Ken McIlwrick found a male
at THessalon Sewage Lagoons on May 23 that was still there on May 25.
Eurasian Wigeon (Prescott and Russell): Jon Ruddy found one at Alfred
Sewage Lagoons on May 25.
Eurasian Collared-Dove (Essex): The bird found previously at Albuna
Townline outside of Leamington continued this week.
LIMPKIN (Simcoe): One bird was found on McKinnon Road, north of Angus on
May 20 by Rebecca, Emily, and Josh Mandell. It was subsequently seen by
many observers to May 21.
BLACK-NECKED STILT (Middlesex): The pair continued this week at Strathroy
Sewage Lagoons.
BLACK-NECKED STILT (Wellington): The pair found by Timothy Griffiths and
Jeff DeRuyter at Drayton Sewage Lagoons on May 13 continued to at least May
25.
Purple Sandpiper (Chatham-Kent): One bird was seen by several different
observers at Erieau on May 22.
Purple Sandpiper (Essex): Ben Ivens photographed one at the tip of Point
Pelee on May 23.
Black-legged Kittiwake (Northumberland): Susanne Williams found an adult at
Cobourg Harbour on May 25.
BLACK-HEADED GULL (Toronto): Presumably the same bird found by Brian Stahls
at Ashbridge's Bay Park on May 13 returned again on May 19 to be seen by
many.
Arctic Tern (Durham, Nipissing, Ottawa, Parry Sound, Stormong, Dundas and
Glengarry): May 24 brought a fallout of this species to several locations
in southern Ontario.
NEOTROPIC CORMORANT (Halton): George Prieksaitis reported one from Burloak
Park on May 24.
NEOTROPIC CORMORANT (Prince Edward): The bird continued this week at Prince
Edward Point to at least May 20.
Snowy Egret (Hamilton): There was one at Confederation Park May 20-21.
TRICOLORED HERON (Algoma): Debbie King found one at Whitefish Island/Sault
Locks in Sault Ste Marie on May 19 that was seen by many to at least May 24.
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Hamilton): Steve MacIntire photographed one
from the Tynseide Trail on May 22.
Black Vulture (Niagara): Up to 2 birds were in the Queenston area this week.
Black Vulture (Simcoe): Patrick Jackson reported one from just outside of
Bass Lake Provincial Park on May 19.
Mississippi Kite (Brant): Jenny and Jason Pizzey reported one flying over
near Paris on May 23.
Mississippi Kite (Essex): At least one bird was reported from Point Pelee
May 19-20.
FERRUGINOUS HAWK (Chatham-Kent): One bird was found injured a couple of
weeks ago but rehabbed and released near Lake St. Clair this week. On May
24 it flew south towards Lake Erie where it was photographed by Mike and
Josh Bouman. It subsequently was tracked further west towards Point Pelee.
LEWIS'S WOODPECKER (Manitoulin): The long-staying bird near Billings was
seen again this week.
Western Kingbird (Chatham-Kent): Keith Burk found one in Erieau on May 24.
Western Kingbird (Essex): Xander Campbell and his group found one at
Hillman Marsh on May 19. Louis Sobol photographed one at Point Pelee on May
25.
Western Kingbird (Rainy River): One bird was at Sable Island on May 22.
Western Kingbird (Thunder Bay): Evan McCaul and Brian Ratcliff found one on
Farm Rd outside of Thunder Bay on May 22.
EURASIAN TREE SPARROW (Bruce): Ken Burrell reported one at Warner Bay on
May 22.
EURASIAN TREE SPARROW (Thunder Bay): Aarre Ertolahti photographed one at
his property on Black Bay near Pearl.
Lark Sparrow (Rainy River): Nathan Hood found one near Harris Hill on May
21.
Lark Sparrow (Toronto): One bird was found May 22 at Colonel Sam Smith
Park, first spotted by Cecilia V and subsequently seen by many on this day
only.
Worm-eating Warbler (Halton): The bird found by David Flook at City View
Park in Burlington on May 14 continued to at least May 21.
Worm-eating Warbler (Hamilton): David Bird reported one from the
Hamilton-Brantford rail trail near Mineral Springs on May 23.
Worm-eating Warbler (Norfolk): Ernest Carman reported one from Backus Woods
on May 21.
Kentucky Warbler (Chatham-Kent): Rick Brown reported one from Tulip Tree
Trail in Rondeau on May 21.
Kentucky Warbler (Essex): One bird was seen by many on Woodland Nature
Trail in Point Pelee on May 22.
Kentucky Warbler (Frontenac): Dianne Croteau and Richard Brault reported
one from Rotary Park in Kingston on May 19.
Summer Tanager (Chatham-Kent): There was at least one bird at Rondeau on
May 22.
Summer Tanager (Norfolk): A young male was banded by LPBO at their tip
station on May 22.
Summer Tanager (Prince Edward): One was reported at Prince Edward Point at
least May 21 and 24.
Summer Tanager (TIMISKAMING): An adult male was at Hilliardton Marsh May 18
and 19.
WESTERN TANAGER (Essex): Paul and Gerald Bloemendal reported a male from
Point Pelee's west beach near Sparrow Field on May 19.
Blue Grosbeak (Chatham-Kent): Phil Mozel reported one from the "Pony Barn"
in Rondeau on May 19.
Dickcissel (Perth): There was a report of a female-type bird at Michell
Sewage Lagoons on May 19.
