Point Pelee National Park migration report - May 13

Good morning birders,

It has been a good day so far in the park this morning, with many warblers
singing and several unusual birds being seen as well. A GOLDEN-WINGED
WARBLER and HOODED WARBLER were reported from Sparrow Field, and an
AMERICAN BITTERN was also reported just north of Sparrow Field. A SUMMER
TANAGER was seen at the tip and on Woodland Trail.
Both Tilden Woods and Woodland Trail have a lot of singing birds. Many
species of warbler have been noted today. About 24 species of warbler noted
so far including CANADA, MOURNING, BAY-BREASTED, CAPE MAY, and others.
PHILADELPHIA
VIREO were noted in Tilden Woods.
Outside of the park, a VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW was seen flying west along the
lakeshore in Wheatley.
The BLACK-HEADED GULL was still being seen at Hillman Shorebird cell, but
it can also be seen on the Sandspit from the north end of East Beach Road
at times. Also noted today at Hillman was a WILSON’S PHALAROPE.
