Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end  time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter:        Chris Burris

Observers:

Visitors:
Thanks to Chris B for compiling today's count.

Weather:
The temp climbed from 18C to 21C. Winds were moderate for most of the day
(from about 15 to 30 km/h) beginning SE and slowly swinging to SW by
count’s end. There were a few clear patches, but mostly layered overcast
as the locally rainless cloud bands marched over.

Raptor Observations:
In addition to the Turkey Vultures, Red-tailed Hawks, and Bald Eagles that
wandered back and forth like locals, there was fair variety and not bad
numbers considering the unrelenting southerly wind direction. The
undisputed highlight occurred when one of the day’s 8 Peregrine Falcons
took a swipe at a first-of-season light morph Rough-legged Hawk.

Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptors included: Common Loon, Canada Goose, Ring-billed Gull, Herring
Gull, Bonaparte’s Gull, Double-crested Cormorant, American Crow, Blue Jay
(still hundreds), American Goldfinch, Northern Cardinal, American Robin,
European Starling, Red-winged Blackbird, Mourning Dove, Song Sparrow,
White-throated Sparrow, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Red-bellied Woodpecker,
Yellow-rumped Warbler, and Blackpoll Warbler.

Predictions:
More southerly winds from the SW again tomorrow so possibly the same kind
of flight with a few more Peregrines trickling through.
