Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end  time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter:        Chad Cornish

Observers:        Hugh Kent, Karen Padbury, Larry Ludwicki

Visitors:
Thanks to Chad for being the official counter today, with great assistance
from Karen Padbury and Hugh Kent. Lou, Toni, Alkesh, Marcos, Brian, and Kit
all paid a visit to the tower today.

Weather:
Clear skies with slight northerly winds to begin; becoming quite warm with
the wind eventually switching south.

Raptor Observations:
A slow start to the day until Broad-winged Hawks made a grand entrance
around 9:00EST. One large kettle of 700+ to the north, plus several small
kettles barely forming up before streaming behind the trout pond.
Sharp-shinned hawks flew in good numbers today, with the falcons fewer than
yesterday.

Non-raptor Observations:
A great mix of warblers and others in the bushes and trees around the tower
this morning. Ebird list can be found here:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S272978561

Predictions:
Hawk Festival day one. A mix of sun and cloud with a chance of
precipitation later in the afternoon. The predicted southerly winds aren't
ideal for raptor migration, but let's hope the birds decide to move
anyways.
