Good morning birders. Despite the cold wet weather a good number of birds have been reported so far today. With the light rain, birds tend to be feeding low down. Birds reported yesterday that are still being found in Tilden Woods include CERULEAN, PROTHONOTARY, HOODED and WILSON’S WARBLERS and LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH. WHITE-EYED VIREO was also detected on the west end of Tilden’s. A couple of BLUE-WINGED WARBLERS have been found and the CLAY-COLORED SPARROW is still being found at the picnic area at Blue Heron. GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER was also observed on the Woodland Trail and another at south end of Northwest Beach parking lot. At the Tip, the VESPER SPARROW is continuing in the parking lot on the west side near the tower. And a LONG-EARED OWL was found just south of the solar panel display sign, but it is roosting off the pathway and not clearly visible from the path. Please do not leave the path to search for it.
