Good morning,
The day is sunny and cool and a number of migrants moved into the Park
today.
Birds like BALTIMORE ORIOLE,
Last night an EASTERN WHIP-POOR-WILL was heard at Delaurier as well as
AMERICAN WOODCOCK seen and heard.
This morning a PIPING PLOVER was noted out on the sand at the Tip of Point
Pelee.
A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was found along the seasonal trails in the Tip
Woods north of the interpretive centre and washrooms.
On the Woodland Trail, people are still noting PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS, in
the wet areas, such as near bridge F. This species was also noted on
Shuster Trail at the first water from the parking lot, as well as almost
out to the end of the trail where it meets the lake. And yet another was
seen at the north end of the Tilden Woods.
There has been a report of a WHITE-EYED VIREO seen on Redbud Trail.
A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was noted in Tilden and several NORTHERN
WATERTHRUSH were also seen there in the wet areas. A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH
was also reported. A SCARLET TANAGER was also reported Tilden Woods. Both
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER and HOODED WARBLER were found north of the intersection
of Tilden Trail and Chinquapin Trail.
Only about 10 wood warblers have been counted so far today.
Good Birding,
Pete, Jean, Mike, Mark, Andrea,
