Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end  time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter:        Tom Bolohan

Observers:        Bob Pettit, Karen Padbury, Larry Ludwicki

Visitors:
Great to have Karen Padbury, Larry Ludwicki and Bob Pettit (from the
Holiday Beach Hawk Watch) at the site today to help out. Thanks to Tom B
for getting the report in for the day.

Weather:
A good mix of sun and cloud all day with moderate SW winds all day. Temp
started at 10C but it got warm hitting a high of 26C.

Raptor Observations:
Some decent numbers of Sharpies and Am. Kestrels today along with some more
N. Harriers, Ospreys and a few Merlins.  Just ONE single Broadwing today...
incredible given the 1000's that passed through yesterday.

Non-raptor Observations:
None reported today.

I meant to mention for those who keep track... we noticed a significant
number of Monarchs moving along past the hawk watch yesterday with (I would
estimate) several hundred for the day (if not more).  Nice to see given the
latest concerns for this species with the change to its status.

Predictions:
With winds forecast to be light to moderate from the S there's not going to
be nearly as many birds but at least you might see some pass right along
the cliff edge using the updraft created.  Sunday is looking a bit more
promising with strong SW winds which again favours those species that like
to ride the lift created at the cliff edge.
