Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: Tom Bolohan
Observers: Ken Wootton
Visitors:
There were a few visitors today to the site. A big thank you to Tom B, Ken
W and Ronnie G for doing today's count.
Weather:
Winds held pretty much moderate from the NE for the count period until
light rain began to fall in mid-afternoon. Temps got to a high of 24C under
a completely overcast sky.
Raptor Observations:
Well as hoped the rain held off till just after 1 pm bird time and they got
a count done today with a total of 222 raptors tallied. The bulk of today's
flight were Sharpies (112) and Am. Kestrels (30) but once again N. Harriers
(49) were a nice surprise for the day. The counters also had a couple more
Peregrines today.
Non-raptor Observations:
A non-raptor report was not submitted for today.
Predictions:
It looks like the forecast for Monday is a mix of sun and cloud which is
good... but with E winds which is not so good as it spreads out the flight
from the lake shore inland. I suspect the flight would be similar to
today's though with fewer birds.
