Good morning birders, The forecasted rain has held off so far, so the morning has been pleasant for birds and birders alike. At least 21 species of warblers have been seen so far, including LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, WILSON’S, GOLDEN-WINGED, BLUE-WINGED, MOURNING, and PROTHONOTARY. The Tip was quieter than the day before, but there were a decent numbers of female BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLERS seen, which had just come in. Also, there were several SCARLET TANAGERS. RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS and WHITE-EYED VIREOS have been reported in multiple locations. YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT has been seen on both Tilden Woods trail and Redbud Trail. A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was spotted in Tilden Woods. Last night a CHUCK-WILLS-WIDOW was found along the road between Sparrow Field and the Tip Tram Stop, and it was heard singing again this morning. EASTERN WHIP-POOR-WILL has been reported as well. Outside the Park, the GLOSSY IBIS first found yesterday evening was seen again at 6:30am along Mersea Road 1.
