Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: Harold V.
Observers: Dave Brown, Ken Wootton, Tom Stewart
Visitors:
Thanks to Harold V for doing today's count with help from Dave B, Ken W,
Tom S and several others.
Weather:
Today's weather was still too warm and the pure blue skies made spotting
any birds nearly impossible. Temp started at 11C and got to a high of 25C.
Winds were actually better than expected from the NE at least for the
morning before switching to ENE and finally from the SE.
Raptor Observations:
Almost the same flight of birds as yesterday with 374 tallied. Mostly
Sharpies (144) and TVs (141) along with Am Kestrels (31), Merlins (7),
Redtails (13), a single Red-shoulder, Cooper's Hawks (5), Ospreys (3), Bald
Eagles (7) and N Harriers (22).
Non-raptor Observations:
Monarch count: 55
