Festival of Birds
Fri, May 16, 2025 3:42 PM

Good Morning Birders!

Southerly winds brought another morning of sun and great birding today!

Both a KENTUCKY and WORM-EATING WARBLER were seen and heard in Tilden Woods
as well as a SUMMER TANAGER, CANADA and MOURNING WARBLER.

At the tip, a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO and at least two 1st summer LITTLE GULLS
persist, along with a CANADA and WILSON’S WARBLER, a few RED-HEADED
WOODPECKERS, and some DUNLIN and BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS. A few AMERICAN
WHITE PELICANS briefly made an appearance. A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was
singing just south of the tower at the Tip.

In Woodland Trail, a CANADA and WILSON’S WARBLER were also found.

All in all the park is birdy, filled with things like TENNESSEE WARBLERS
and LEAST FLYCATCHERS, and most birds are signing. There is also a
significant number of both CUCKOO species.

Good Birding,
Aaron, Felix, Julie and Pete
