Good morning birders, It has been a cool morning with many birds scattered throughout the park. The ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER, found yesterday on the seasonal trail north of Dunes continues again today. HOODED WARBLERS were reported at Sleepy Hollow and at Woodland Nature Trail. A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was also seen on the Woodland Nature Trail. A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues to be seen in Tilden Woods. Further south in the park, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was reported on the west beach across from Sparrow Field. Once the sun came up and the day got warmer, Tilden and Woodland became full of birds, with many species of warbler noted among them. About 22 species of warbler have been noted so far today.
