Observation start time: 06:30:00
Observation end  time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7.5 hours

Official Counter:        Tom Bolohan

Observers:

Visitors:
Quite a few visitors today and it sounds like several of them were folks
who had driven down to see the Roseate Spoonbill that is not far from the
hawk watch but it had flown away. At least they got to see a decent raptor
flight. Thanks again to Tom B and everyone who helped with spotting the
birds for today's count.

Weather:
Lots of cloud around today with temp starting warmer at 13C and getting to
a high of 21C. Winds were light and variable again today.

Raptor Observations:
Not a bad flight given the weather wasn't the best for raptor migration.
However, with the light winds and continued warmer air there were thermals
today with little shear and the birds took advantage.  Total raptors for
today was 2,581 with again lots of Broadwings (2,157), Sharpies (246) and
Am Kestrels (115). A really good flight of Northern Harriers (46) along
with Osprey (3), Bald Eagles (8), Cooper's Hawks (4), Merlins (5) and a
lone Peregrine.

Non-raptor Observations:
None reported.

Predictions:
Monday is looking VERY good for a raptor flight with very strong thermals
and steady moderate NW winds across the entire region of Southwestern
Ontario. I suspect that this will be one of the last big pushes by the
Broadwings to move so be watching the skies wherever you are tomorrow.
