A big thanks to the spotters that helped out today... Chris B, Matt O., Su R. and Steve B. Weather: Very low hanging clouds and humid to start with temp at 19C and winds light from the NW. Sky cleared quite a bit with just high cirrus by mid morning. Unfortunately, the winds died out pretty much as they switched to W and WSW later in the morning. Pressure remained high and climbed slightly through the day. There was some cloud cover that developed as the day wore on. Raptor Observations: A very small flight today with just 30 birds. We had much higher hopes given the original forecast but mother nature had other ideas. We did get some nice views of the lone Osprey of the day along with a few close N. Harriers. The local Bald Eagles were also putting on a nice show every once in a while with some VERY low passes. Non-raptor Observations: On the non-raptor front things were much more interesting with a total of 45 species. These included another Common Nighthawk, a nice Yellow-billed Cuckoo, a foraging Yellow-bellied Flycatcher and a couple of Red-headed Woodpeckers along with a good number of warbles, vireos and other woodpeckers.
