There were several of us spotting today including Su, Daniel Lee, Cary and Rebecca S. Weather: NE winds to start the day getting a bit stronger into the late morning before dying off and switching around to light from the SE which basically halted today's flight in its tracks! Temps were fairly comfortable at 17C to 22C although it was a bit humid in the morning. There were ZERO clouds for most of the morning and then just as a nice bunch of clouds formed the wind changed on us! :( Raptor Observations: A pretty good flight today for early September with a total of 443 raptors tallied. We counted 252 BWs with the largest kettle of around 40 birds... and I'm pretty sure we missed a bunch as they got higher and higher as the morning went on. A decent flight of Sharpies (144) as well and Osprey (3). Non-raptor Observations: Lots of passerines around though not a lot observed actually flying past today. We did get a couple of CHSW and a CONI that passed through and several Swallow sp. Lots of RTHU on the move today providing some nice photo ops at the large patches of Jewelweed directly across the road from the viewing area.
